Poinciana is a census-designated place and an unincorporated area in Osceola and Polk counties of the U.S. state of Florida located on approximately 47,000 acres approximately 10 miles south of Kissimmee, Florida and 14 miles east of Haines City, Florida. The population was 13,647 at the 2000 census, but like in many areas of Florida, this has grown substantially since. As of September 2006, there are an estimated 63,000 residents in Poinciana.
