Los Cerrillos is a census-designated place in Santa Fe County, New Mexico, United States. It is part of the Santa Fe, New Mexico Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 229 at the 2000 census. Accessible from State Highway 14, Los Cerrillos is on the road from Santa Fe to Albuquerque, closer to Santa Fe. Visitors to the town may stop at the Rock ShopMuseum where they can buy samples of various rocks, minerals, and other naturally occurring curiosities, feed chickens, peacocks, goats, and llamas, and tour the Museum of Northern New Mexican History, which contains artifacts from the old west days, and cardboard cutouts of characters from the film Young Guns, which was filmed in and around Los Cerrillos.
