Hillsboro is a city in and county seat of Washington County, Oregon, United States. The community began in 1842 and was named Hillsborough in 1850, before incorporation in 1876 as Hillsboro. Located in the Tualatin Valley, the city is home to technology companies such as microprocessor chip manufacturers and related suppliers giving rise to the term Silicon Forest that includes other high-tech employers in the region.
