City Claude is a city in Armstrong County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,313 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Armstrong County. The town was originally named Armstrong City, but was later changed to Claude, after Claude Ayers, the engineer of the first train to travel through the area.
