City Kilgore is a city in East Texas, United States. Located mostly in Gregg County, a portion of the city extends into northern Rusk County. It is the home of Kilgore College, and was also the childhood home of famous classical pianist Van Cliburn. A 2005 US Census estimate pegged the population at 11,858.
